Lesley was drawn to the field of Speech-Language Pathology after years of trying to support her daughter's struggles with dyslexia. She graduated with a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Fascinated by the fusion of neuroscience and language, Lesley worked to provide rehabilitation to individuals with cognitive-linguistic challenges following traumatic brain injury, before transitioning to serving children and adolescents with language learning disabilities including dyslexia. Executive functions are another area of interest, and are particularly vulnerable in individuals with attention difficulties. Lesley enjoys teaching strategies to support these students with the organizational, and self-monitoring demands required for school success. Lesley spends her free time skiing and waterskiing with her family.
Lesley adds: “In 2018 I opened my practice, WordsWorth Speech-Language Pathology in Greenwood Village, CO. Due to COVID I have been treating clients utilizing telepractice and am now serving clients in different areas of the state. I specialize in supporting clients with dyslexia and related language-learning disabilities, as well as those with executive function challenges. WordsWorth provides comprehensive assessments administered by a diagnostician who has been approved by the International Dyslexia Association – Rocky Mountain Branch. Evaluations are designed to inform an accurate diagnosis, develop focused interventions, and identify appropriate accommodations and modifications”.
