SPEECH, LANGUAGE HEARING SCIENCE DEPARTMENT (formerly CDSS)

This website is part of the many innovative outreach projects funded by the Louis and Harold Price Foundation. In the mid 90’s, the Price Foundation was a substantial benefactor for the SLHS Child Learning Center. The Foundation gave additional funding in 1999 for an initiative based on the belief that SLHS alumni are the best ambassadors to represent and share the excellent work of the Department beyond the University. The initiative resulted in the establishment an alumni board, alumni institutes, support for SLHS doctoral students, and outreach to alums outside of CO.

In 2012, a followup initiative through Price sought to strengthen communication with alumni through a website and social media engagement. Much appreciation goes to the Price Family & Foundation for their tremendous support and to Sue McCord & Sheila Goetz, CLC faculty, for their vision and innovation in securing these grants and cultivating the many relationships that came from their initiatives.

On June 24, 2022, Dr. Jack Damico, Chair and faculty member of SLHS, committed funds to support basic operational services to continue the goal of strengthening communication between SLHS and alumni through an alumni liaison, website, social media accounts and seasonal newsletters.

We are forever grateful for the support of all Alumni activities over the years.
